Founded in 2016, the STEAM Horizon Awards invite Canada’s youth to promote positive changes throughout their community using science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).
Criteria: Would you describe any number of your students as leaders, achievers, or innovators? Do they have limitless drive, ambition, and determination?
To be eligible to apply, you must:
be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada;
be 16 to 18 years of age at time of application;
have been recognized for accomplishments in a formal capacity (e.g. selected as a winner or participant of a science fair, patent application, conference presentation) or less formal capacity (e.g. founding a coding club, developing a course for kids, creating an interactive art installation);
have obtained, over the previous year of study, an academic average of 85% or higher;
be preparing to enroll in the Fall of 2019 or currently enrolled in the first year of post-secondary education (university or college) in a STEAM field* in Canada.
*Art and design fields will only be accepted if they are integrated in science and technology.
Value: $25,000 to attend a Canadian university or college to study in a STEAM field
